“I’ve been doing art since day one…” These are the words of one of the Dzul crew tattoo artists, doing an interview for their local radio station and spreading the word. They’re all about publicity and making their mark across a variety of scenes; their MySpace reveals their planned upcoming appearances at everything from Motorcycle tours to Fiestas, fairs and tattoo conventions (of course!)Dzul have their own clothing line, ‘Airbrush,’ which they say they were inspired to create for younger fans not yet able to legally get any ink done! The walls of their shop are lined with their own flash art, inside and out, with bold graffiti styles and acid bright colours featuring prominently. They also do a line in selling their artwork on paper, or cars, walls or anything you can think of; this isn’t just your standard Tattoo parlour, it’s a whole business revolving around tattoo culture and art. Oh, and there’s a resident piercist, too! The team of tattoo artists for Dzul collectively have street-style lettering and Tribal as their signature excellence, although there are also brilliant examples of New School Black and Grey, colour and some smattered tributes to a variety of any other style you might think of. |
