Tattoo: Bruce Springsteen on calf

This week, Mike Skinner of The Streets (remember them?) "took over" The Guardian's music section and ended up asking a fantastic question: why do people get music-related tattoos? As a guy who claims his fans have many different tattoos, his interest and curiosity resulted in a small look at some fantastic tattoos from the UK and America, and got everyone asking: why does that Bruce Springsteen portrait have him wearing 3D glasses?

Let's be honest, most national newspapers never put tattoos in a positive light. This article is very different! This celebrates the music tattoo, and features artists' work (along with the actual names of the artists, wow! and their wearer's reasons for biting the bullet and going for that Willie Nelson tattoo. The artists featured include Chad Koeplinger and Scott Campbell, among others (it's safe to assume the others couldn't remember their artist's name!), and paints a really interesting picture of music related tattoos. Where a small few with music tattoos end up going overboard and end up looking like a high school kid's excercise book, it's great to see that downplayed and some interesting art put into the spotlight instead!
