The Lizard Man Tattoo

“If you saw someone green with two tongues, it was probably me…” This is the web space quote of our subject, who has the letters “Freak” emblazoned in black ink across his chest. Self described “Professional Freak,” the Lizard Man is another example of a character who has made a career out of heavy body modification and performance art entertainment , as he says on his MySpace,"earning from his stints at stand up comedy, appearances on basic cable…and talk show TV.” His moniker is earned from a collection of body modifications: He is in possession of a full body tattoo of green-colour scales, has had his teeth sharpened to points, his lips coloured green, sub dermal eyebrow implants and his tongue bifurcated – an immensely painful process to even watch!! It involves using either a scalpel or a surgical laser and has created controversy amongst ethicists in addition to being being illegal in far more countries than not (though why the modification of one's own body should or shouldn't be be illegal is whole other subject!). Most recently he has publicly stated ambitions to get a tail transplant, a relatively unprecedented concept in the world of body modification.
